MuzikDariRumah – Man Bai and Dato’ Jamal Abdillah

133

Still, observing MCO and WFH? Today I’m going to share another edition of #MuzikDariRumah Showcase and it is from two of my favorite singers, Man Bai and Dato’ Jamal Abdillah.

Malaysian, especially karaoke lovers will know Man Bai from his ‘Kau Ilhamku’ song by heart, or perhaps Masih Aku Terasa, to reminisce memory of ex-lovers. As Man Bai puts it, it is common when you are younger to have love-hate memories.

Backed by live instruments by musicians from Kuantan, Cheras, Ulu Klang, Taman Melawati, and Man Bai from Kota Damansara, the showcase brought a new experience for us to see how it is done remotely. The showcase enlisted hit songs like Masih Aku Terasa, Bersama Suara Hati, and of course Kau Ilhamku. Man Bai also shared information about COVID-19 and also about the MCO.

“Beribu bintang di langit kini menghilang…”

And he goes on serenading Kau Ilhamku and of course, if you are like me, WFH, it will transport you back to a place and time in history. The power of song.

The next showcase is from a legend, Dato’ Jamal Abdillah starting with Batinku Berlagu Pilu. A melodious song backed by an awesome singer. Dato’ Jamal resides in the ‘manly voice’ category of the singers I love. The next song is Di Hujung Percintaan, another dramatic song.

Dato’ Jamal also dedicated a song ‘Dian’ to the leaders and front-liners who have battled COVID-19 while we are observing MCO. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, befitting the current situation.

The song ‘Kalau Mencari Teman’ has a joget tune. While the lyric is full of advice to those seeking Mr. Right or She’s the One, you can feel the happiness, as if the sun is shining brightly outside. And why is that so? Because the song Azura is also in the showcase. Remember the movie?

Haha! Then the haunting song, Kekasih Awal dan Akhir. Followed by Derita Cinta, which reflected the sudden change of weather in the area now.

Since I’m taking the trip down the memory lane, I suggest you to check out the showcase as well. It is not every day you’ll get treated with free live concerts (although recorded) from legendary singers.

Take care and be safe.
