PUTRAJAYA 30 September 2019 – As a result of the working mission to Aeromart-Nagoya 2019, led by YB Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof, Minister of Entrepreneur Development (MED), five Malaysian SMEs have successfully secured RM219.2 million in potential investments in the aerospace sector.
The five Malaysian SMEs are :
- COMPOSITES TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH MALAYSIA SDN BHD
- MALAYSIA AEROSPACE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (MAIA)
- SAPURA AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGIES SDN BHD
- KAIZAN AERO MANUFACTURING SDN BHD
- INTER-EXCEL ADVISORY SDN BHD
” The mission, which also comprised senior officials from MED, SME Corp and MATRADE, saw a total of 86 business meetings undertaken between Malaysian and Japanese companies. Both sides also expressed their keen interest to leverage on the advanced technology in the aero-manufacturing sector, employed by leading Japanese industry players.
Aeromart-Nagoya 2019 has served as a platform for MED to showcase the nation’s interest in becoming the hub for the production of sub-components in the aerospace supply chain, particularly for leading Japanese commercial aircrafts. MED is also keen to embark on collaboration with the likes of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers as well as part suppliers. ” said MED in a statement yesterday.
MED also added that the ministry will remains committed to ensure the optimum participation and internalization of local SMEs in such high-growth sectors as stated in Strategic Thrust Six of the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 (DKN2030), launched by YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on 11 July 2019.
