PUTRAJAYA 4th September 2019 – YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia will be undertaking a Working Visit to the Russian Federation from 4 to 6 September 2019, at the official invitation by His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to attend the 5th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2019) in Vladivostok.
According to the press release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Tun Dr Mahathir will be accompanied by YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Minister of Economic Affairs, YB Datuk Ignatius Darrel Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry, as well as senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
” YAB Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address during the 2019 EEF Plenary Session alongside the President of the Russian Federation and the other leaders, who have been invited to the Forum.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Russian Federation in Malaysia’s efforts to further strengthen ties and cooperation with the Russian Federation. ” said the Ministry in the statement.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs alo added that the visit to the Russian Federation will provide an opportunity for Malaysia to discuss and exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest. It is also a great platform to attract new business opportunities, investments, and new partnerships especially in the field of science and technology, in line with the development of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).
