Ewon and Armizan collaborated in the 2025 Budget Dialogue held for the two ministries

PENAMPANG, August 25, 2024 – The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick and the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali collaborated in the 2025 Budget Dialogue held for the two ministries.

This dialogue session was an initiative of the ministry to listen to the views and suggestions of the initiatives from stakeholders and industry player to be submitted to the Ministry of Finance.

“Thank you, Datuk Armizan, for agreeing to work together to hold a dialogue with my ministry and this is a message that we are ready to listen and consider the views of the citizen,” he said when speaking at te KUSKOP and KPDN Budget 2025 Dialogue session, at ITCC Penampang yesterday.

According to Ewon prior to this, the KUSKOP 2025 Budget Dialogue session has already been held in Kuala Lumpur on the 6th of August, an engagement session with the representatives of hawker associations and small traders at KUSKOP Putrajaya on the 19th of August and through the National Entrepreneurship Development Council (MPKN) Meeting at Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur on the 20th of August 2024.

“With ideas and input from different parties, I am confident that we can streamline the strategy to get the best outcome for the people through the 2025 Budget,” he said.

He shared that through the 2024 Budget, the outcome from the engagement session held on the 7th of September 2023, KUSKOP managed to get special allocations for the implementation of the Tamu Desa Development Project in Sabah and Sarawak.

“A total of RM20 million has been allocated for the Tamu Desa Development Project in Sabah and Sarawak which is currently being implemented to improve or build new Tamu Desa,” he said.

This Dialogue session was attended by approximately 400 people representing entrepreneurs, hawkers, small traders, associations and cooperatives from Sabah and Sarawak.

One of the many suggestions put forward by the participants were the addition of Tamu Desa Project allocations in Sabah and Sarawak, the funding of the Bumiputera Enterprise Enhancement Program (BEEP Plus) specifically for Sabah and Sarawak to be continued and the improvement of existing programs and funding for cooperatives.

Also present was Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, KUSKOP Secretary General Dato’ Sri Suriani Dato’ Ahmad, KUSKOP Deputy Secretary General (Entrepreneurial Development) Datuk Zamri Salleh Deputy Secretary General (User Empowerment and Management) KPDN Dato’ Zakaria Shaaban, Ministry of Finance 2025 Budget Team Thiagu Vadivalu, heads of agencies and senior officers of KUSKOP and KPDN.
