KOPK 2024: SKOMAS Special Education Athlete Top Breaks High and Long Jumping Event Record

PASIR GUDANG – The Johor Sports Athletic Stadium witnessed SMK Kota Masai’s special education athletes win gold medal in the high jump event and set a new record for the 15 and 19-year-old categories which took place on Aug 14 and 15.

Throughout the tournament, SMK Kota Masai managed to win 13 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze for all the events participated. High jumper athelete, Braein Sakai Anak Semari with his style broke the new record 1.55 meters against the previous record 1.40 meters, thus crowning him the high jump champion for the 19-year-old male category.

Its more beautiful when his comrade in the high jump event, Mohammad Danial Almoftif also won the gold medal by breaking the new record with 7 final jumps at 1.45 metres, beating the previous Braein record holder, 1.40 metres in KOPK 2023.

Not only stopping there, SKOMAS continues to create a new record with long jump athletes, Muhammad Hairul Fazley, Muhammad Irfan and Wan Nur Syahirah and also medal get a gold medal in the 19-year-old men’s and women’s long jump events.

The excellence of the SMK Kota Masai special educational sports camp continued to be celebrated when Muhammad Hairul Fazley was chosen as the best male under-19 year contestant by quoting 4 gold and 1 silver throughout the tournament.

Hairul Fazley was named the best male under 19-years-old athlete by the Chief Assistant Director of Special Education Sector of JPN Johor, Mr. Hj Yahaya Ali

Jamilah Ali, Special Education Assistant of SMK Kota Masai, stated that the excellence of special education sports is evidence of the event of MBPK in demonstrating their talent and potential to continue to compete at a higher level.

“The determination shown by all the athletes and teachers is extraordinary and surely every success achieved is the result of hard work together. Hopefully this success will be a catalyst to continue to strive to give the best in any field related to becoming MBPK,” she said.

In this tournament, SMK Kota Masai managed to finish second while SMK Taman Daya opened a new chapter by becoming the champion of KOPK MSSD Pasir Gudang 2024.

KOPK is a place for MBPK to develop its talents and potential in athletics as well as balance educational opportunities through mental and physical integrity as well as generate MBPK’s existing strengths.
