Setia Ecohill, Semenyih, 21st November 2019 – Malaysia has another 1st in the world today with the official launching of world’s first Angry Bird Splash Water World. The first in the world Angry Birds inflatable water world will be officially opened tomorrow, 22nd November and will be in town for the next 2 months of school holidays which is till 5th January 2020 before continuing its next journey. Located at Setia Ecohill in Semenyih, the water park is a collaboration between Finland’s Rovio Entertainment Corp and Malaysia’s One Universal Production (OUP) in conjunction with the 10th year anniversary of Angry Birds.
The grand opening was officiated by Tuan Mohd Akbal Setia, Director of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MPTB), on behalf of Datuk Musa b. Yusof, Director General of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MPTB). In his speech, Tuan Mohd Akbal expressed his excitement on the collaboration between Rovio Entertainment Corp and OUP. Aligned with Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020 campaign, the inflatable water theme park will be an ideal destination for family and friend’s getaway during the holidays.
Tuan Mohd Akbal also shared that under the Visit Malaysia 2020 program, 20 major events have been shortlisted to promote Malaysia as tourist destination. Having Angry Bird Splash Water World premiered in Malaysia, will be a boost in achieving 30 million tourists as projected under the campaign.
Also sharing his anticipation is Alvin Lee, CEO of One Universal Production (OUP). “We are committed to bring great services and different event experience by delivering innovative ideas such as the world’s first Angry Birds Splash Water World. The unique and exciting product and services will be great for family bonding especially during the school holidays”. In the interview, Alvin Lee has shared that more than RM 5 million investment has been made for the development and preparations of this inflatable water park. Top notch security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the visitors.
Responding to a question on the venue selection, the Angry Birds Splash Water World which a mobile inflatable water park, will be making its round to the central region, northern and southern region of Malaysia, bringing excitement to the fans of Angry Birds.
The popular Angry Birds characters which has started as characters in mobile games has indeed evolve to various entertainment and consumer products and brand licensing. With a movie recently released, The Angry Birds Movie 2, the Angry Birds Splash Water World is promising bundles of activities under the sun at Setia Ecohill. Rovio Entertainment Corp also expressed their delight in its cooperation with OUP in delivering the Angry Birds Splash Water World. Based on the high demands for the ticket, it is undeniably well received by the Malaysians.
In the grand opening of the water theme park, loveable characters like Red, Chuck, Bomb, Terrence, Mighty Eagle and the adorable Hatchlings will be featured across the Angry Birds Splash Water World. Visitors will be able to try out the inflatable Angry Birds water slides and obstacles featuring these characters. Among the attractions is the tallest water slide standing at 12 meters for the thrill seekers. Other activities line up is the characters parade, meet and greet and dances to entertain the crowd. There will also be Angry Birds pop-up store which will feature a wide range of exclusive Angry Birds merchandise and memorabilia.
