LANGKAWI, 25 May 2023 – The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) also known as Malaysia Coast Guard received the 15 Year Air Operations Achievement Award for the operation of Airbus AS365 N3 helicopters from Airbus Sdn. Bhd. at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Center (MIEC), yesterday.
This award signifies Airbus Sdn. Bhd.’s recognition of the performance and capabilities that has been done by Air Operations Division (AOD) of MMEA in various operations including Search and Rescue (SAR), maritime surveillance, enforcement in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), Special Operations, and others through the use of Airbus engines.
AOD has successfully extended the range of air operations and strengthened its capabilities in ensuring maritime safety through enforcement duties in Malaysian waters.
The award, in the form of a plaque and badges, was received by the Deputy Director-General (Logistics) acting as the Director General of MMEA, Vice Admiral Maritime Datuk Saiful Lizan Ibrahim, the Director of the Air Operations Division, Captain Maritime Syed Islam Shahajam, as well as the squadron leader and AS365 N3 pilot, Lieutenant Commander Maritime Tengku Nizam Tengku Zakaria.
