Fadillah arrived in Jakarta

JAKARTA, 4 September 2024 – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof has arrived safely in Jakarta.

Fadillah led the Malaysian delegation to Jakarta on his official working visit from today until 6th of September 2024. He has attended and delivered the keynote speech at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum 2024 (ISF 2024) in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 5th and 6th of September 2024 at the invitation of the Indonesian Government.

“As the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), I will deliver the keynote speech at the ISF 2024 to convey Malaysia’s stance in showing active commitment in the sustainability agenda in climate mitigation through the expansion of the use of renewable energy at the national and regional levels. This includes the coal phasing-out aspect which is important to focus on at the international forums such as ISF 2024.

It also shows Malaysia’s preparedness in managing a sustainable transition to foreign investors in order to increase their confidence to invest in Malaysia, which would lead to encouraging investors to complete the sustainability agenda and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

I am confident that this forum will strengthen Malaysia’s image and its role in the sustainability agenda at the international level, especially in the energy transition vision, in addition to illustrating Malaysia’s continuous commitment in achieving the net zero agenda by 2050” said Fadillah through a post on his Facebook page.

He also shared that he is scheduled to hold meetings with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, TYT Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan; the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, TYT Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia and the Minister of Human Resources of Singapore, Dr. Tan See Leng.

“Tonight, I will be at the meet and greet session with the Malaysian diaspora in Jakarta while and will be sharing about the country’s latest development efforts and initiatives, especially in the aspect of energy transition.

Thank you to the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, TYT Dato’ Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin and the embassy officials who had welcomed my arrival at the Sokaerno-Hatta International Airport” he said.
