PUTRAJAYA, 3 September 2024 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA). Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof will lead the Malaysian delegation to Jakarta during his official working visit session from the 4th to 6th of September 2024.
In the framework of the official work visit, he is expected to attend and deliver keynote speech at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum 2024 (ISF 2024) in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 5th to 6th of September 2024 on the invitation from the Indonesia Government.
“The attendance of YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah to the forum will strengthen Malaysia’s image and roles in sustainability agenda at the international level especially in the energy transition vision and portraying Malaysia’s continuous commitment in achieving net zero agenda by the year 2050.
Malaysia’s stance in showing its active commitment in the sustainability agenda in climate mitigation through the expansion of the renewable energy usage at the international and regional level, including the coal phasing-out aspect, is important to be highlighted at international forums such as ISF 2024. In addition, it also shows Malaysia’s preparedness in carrying out a sustainable transition to the foreign investors to increase their confidence to invest in Malaysia, thus encouraging the investors to complete the sustainability agenda and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals” said PETRA.
PETRA also added, Fadillah is also expected to pay a courtesy call to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia, His Excellency Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
He is also scheduled to be meeting with Malaysia diaspora in Jakarta to share their efforts and initiatives, especially in the energy transition aspect.
