PETRA: Guidelines for the implementation of CRESS will be issued in September 2024

PUTRAJAYA, August 22 – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) will introduce the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS) which is a progressive initiative by the Madani Government. It aims to create a wider green electricity supply option for consumers.

PETRA in a statement distributed today shared, the initiative which is based on third party access is expected to be implemented in September 2024.

A dialogue and explanation session for the industry players regarding the implementation of the CRESS Program was held today to get feedback from the industry on the basic principles and framework for the implementation of the program.

The dialogue session led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof received an encouraging response from approximately 250 industry players attending the session. Ideas sharing and views related to the implementation of the CRESS Program were also expressed.

Fadillah closed the dialogue session by informing that the feedback expressed by the industry representatives will be examined and will be considered in the preparation of CRESS implementation guidelines. It is expected to be issued by the Energy Commission in September 2024.
