MALAYSIA, PUTRAJAYA, August 7, 2024 – In line with the decline in global oil prices, Malaysian Government has decided to reduce the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by 5 sen per liter to RM3.30 per liter from August 8, 2024, until August 14, 2024.
According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), setting the retail diesel price for Peninsular Malaysia at RM3.30 per liter aligns with the current trend of decreasing global oil prices.
“The Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the diesel retail price, taking into account oil market movements and supporting price stability.
The Government will also closely monitor the impact of changes in global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people,” said the MOF.
On June 10, 2024, the implementation of diesel subsidy restructuring was announced under the BUDI MADANI initiative. Simultaneously, the Government agreed to set the retail diesel price at RM3.35 per liter compared to the previous RM2.15 per liter.
