Puchong, July 22, 2024 – The towering Grand Ion Majestic (GIM) is taking Genting Highlands to the next level with the 1001 Nights Hotel, the latest in the Trademark Collection by Wyndham to be launched by the award-winning developer NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group). Tapping on consumer demand for unique luxury experiences, 1001 Nights Hotel was conceptualised by renowned branding master Professor Zhao Ming, Founder & Chairman of Jiangda Design Co.Ltd, China, and is set to transform GIM.
The event also commemorated the topping out of the GIM, a tradition in the construction industry that marks the point when the final part of the building structure is completed, and the next stage can begin.
Constructed in partnership with China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (CSCEC), GIM reflects the world’s largest construction company’s hallmark of extensive green building expertise and advanced technologies that will enhance the structural integrity and design of the building. Once completed, 1001 Nights Hotel will contribute to heightening Genting Highlands’ reputation as a popular tourist destination.
The involvement of CSCEC and Professor Zhao Ming are further testament to the strong ties between China and Malaysia, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental excellence and innovation in the construction industry. The two nations this year celebrate 50 years of a deeply-rooted relationship, embodying the cultural and historical linkage, as well as spirit of collaboration.

The 1001 Nights Hotel is a sanctuary of stories, offering luxurious experiences to evoke deep emotional responses from guests. The Star River Theme Lobby and Sky Theme Pavilion Garden is set to inspire creativity, while the Hall of Human Stories offers an avenue for discovering and preserving precious lifetime memories. Perched among the clouds, the hotel choreographs life’s magnificence and narrates the world’s tales. According to branding master Professor Zhao Ming, the Founder & Chairman of Jiangda Design Co.Ltd, China as well as the Planning Director of Tongji University Art and Design Research Center, by engaging guests through such aspirational narratives, 1001 Nights Hotel will be a sanctuary of multifaceted human stories and experiences.

Taking inspiration from this concept, our aim was to transform GIM as the 1001 Nights Hotel, where the hotel serves as a platform for storytelling, shaping the most imaginative and captivating experience for everyone.”
The GIM is being developed on a total gross development value (GDV) of RM 1.6 billion and will feature an extensive retail space of 178000 square feet that offers a diverse range of shopping and dining experiences.
The GIM, alongside 1001 Nights Hotel, is also expected to significantly boost tourism in Genting Highlands by attracting a diverse range of visitors, further cementing Malaysia’s position as a top travel destination in Southeast Asia. It aligns with national tourism goals, and particularly the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative, which aims to draw 35.6 million tourists.

The topping out ceremony of the GIM by CSCEC was held in June 2024. The 1001 Nights Hotel’s soft opening is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.
