Two nearly drowning children rescued by 3 brave polytechnic students

TERENGGANU, July 6, 2024 – Without hesitation, three polytechnic students bravely rescued two children who were nearly drowning while swimming at Pulau Perhentian yesterday.

The students involved are Ahmad Danial Safwan Ahmad Safri from Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (POLISAS), Naufal Zahari from Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS), and Mohamad Haikal Danis Mohamad Nasir from Politeknik Seberang Perai (PSP).

During the incident, the three students were engaged in group activities near the scene.

“We noticed two children struggling in the water at the beach, and without delay, we rushed to their aid.

“The area was quite deep and unreachable by foot,” said Ahmad Danial when interviewed.

Naufal shared that both victims, approximately 9 years old, were still breathing when rescued, although one of them vomited severely and appeared weak.

Meanwhile, another student, Muhammad Haikal, expressed gratitude for successfully saving the children.

“Alhamdulillah, armed with basic lifesaving knowledge we learned during our time at the polytechnic, we were confident in rescuing these children,” he said.
