Bank Muamalat Launches 2023-2025 Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan to Promote Integrity and Accountability

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) — In conjunction with National Integrity Day 2023, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Muamalat), has launched its Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) for 2023-2025 as an indication of its commitment to combating corruption and nurturing good governance, in line with requirement outlined by the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019-2023.

The Bank Muamalat OACP is a fundamental component of our broader integrity agenda, aiming to establish a culture characterized by high levels of integrity and professionalism throughout our product and service delivery processes, capturing the Bank’s brand purpose of ensuring “Better lives, together” for all.

The launching ceremony was officiated by Khairul Kamarudin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Muamalat and Ahmad Kamal bin Abdul Rahman, Assistant Commissioner of the Inspection and Consultation Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. It was attended by senior management of Bank Muamalat, representatives from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and Bank Muamalat’s staff.

To support these priorities, Bank Muamalat has identified nine strategic objectives, including robust internal controls, enhanced accountability and a strong focus on minimizing corruption risks.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Khairul Kamarudin emphasised that, “The OACP is designed with the mission to improve efficiency,transparency and accountability as well as embedding Bank Muamalat’s integrity & ethics standard, which are key ingredients towards transforming Bank Muamalat into the best Islamic bank in Malaysia that customers can trust and rely on.”
