The event commenced with an inspiring speech from PAAB’s Acting CEO, Ir. Zulkiflee Omar, who expressed deep gratitude and admiration for the dedicated volunteers and community members.

Ir. Zulkiflee highlighted the pivotal role played by all stakeholders in ensuring the sustainable well-being of our environment. Furthermore, he underscored PAAB’s responsibility in ensuring equitable distribution of water resources to the entire Malaysian population through water supply operators in various states.

The program held on 28 October 2023 holds significant importance as it safeguards a unique and invaluable natural resource, serving as a vital ecosystem in protecting against coastal erosion and maintaining the natural coastline. PAAB is proud to share that through this collaboration, 200 mangrove saplings have been planted in our effort to preserve this vital ecosystem.

Zulkiflee expressed his deep appreciation for the volunteers from University Sains of Malaysia (USM), most welcome to Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP), PIFWA and also the members of Kelab Belia Prihatin Malaysia, who travelled from Kedah, Pulau Pinang, and Perlis to participate in the program.

Their dedication and enthusiasm were commended as a testament to the collaborative spirit and commitment toward environmental preservation.

In his closing remarks, Ir. Zulkiflee extended heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ilias Shafie and the residents of Kampung Sungai Aceh for their warm welcome and expressed his hope for the continuation of such initiatives in the future.

The event was marked by a spirit of unity and community involvement, reflecting the core values of environmental preservation and collaboration championed by PAAB.
