Sindiyan Plantation Awarded for the Largest Musang King Plantation from The Malaysia Book of Records Award

GUA MUSANG, 15 September 2023: Another score of milestones is set for Sindiyan Plantation as it was awarded the Largest Musang King Plantation from The Malaysia Book of Records at an award ceremony held at its greenery plantation.

With over 7,000 acres of land in Lojing Highlands, Gua Musang, Kelantan, Sindiyan Plantation has become the largest durian plantation in the country. Committed to be the leader of the durian business, Sindiyan Plantation continues to modernize its operations and to expand its plantation in the future.

“We are proud of this achievement as a milestone for Sindiyan Plantation, which aims to develop a sustainable agriculture, and agro-tourism business. This will bring positive environmental and socioeconomic development impact and benefits to the local communities too,” said Symantha Chai, Chief Executive Officer, Sindiyan Plantation Sdn Bhd.

Musang King durian has captured the market steadily with China being the biggest durian consumers globally, importing almost 10% of its durian from Malaysia. Beforet he Covid-19 pandemic Malaysia exported 500-800 tons of frozen durian to China, equivalent to USD 9.9 million to USD 14.85 million. To expand on this potential and its growth, Sindiyan Plantation’s strategic partnership with Hernan Corporation aims to produce 60,000 metric tonne of durian annually. This exclusive partnership will allow Hernan Corporation and Sindiyan Plantation to serve the growing global demand for Malaysian durian.

Backed by Navis Capital, a leading Southeast Asia focused private equity firm based in Kuala Lumpur, both companies aim to modernize the entire durian value chain and to raise the level of standards for the industry.

The Malaysia Book of Records award was presented at Sindiyan Musang King Durian Eco Park and witnessed by YB Dato Dr Haji Mohamed Fadzli, Deputy Kelantan Menteri Besar.
