KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – In the upcoming State Election, we will see UMNO betting on its political giants to win the election.
Four ex-Menteri Besar from UMNO will either defending their DUN seats won in 2018 or has been renominated.
Among them is the ex-Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman who has been announced as the Barisan Nasional’s candidate (BN) for Dun Kijal and Seberang Takir.
While the ex-Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan who is also the Vice President of Umno, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is UMNO’s champion to defend the Dun Rantau seat.
In Kedah, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid who was the Menteri Besar from 2005 to 2008 has been renominated at Dun Pedu.
For the record, Mahdzir held the seat before which he won two times in 2004 and 2008.
UMNO’s candidate were announced by its Secretary General, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki at the announcement event for 15th BN PRN held Dewan Tun Hussien Onn, World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur last night.
Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is the BN Chairman and other high ranks from component parties has also attended the ceremony.
