Largest Autoshow returns in May 2023 with three new sub-events, covering wider automotive consumer markets

CYBERJAYA, 23 February 2023 – The Malaysia Autoshow 2023 will open its doors once again this 4th to 7th May 2023, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

The 2023 edition, themed “Mobility Redefined”, continues its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, highlighting the advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles within the Malaysian market.

The Autoshow’s sixth edition – organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) – will not only feature the latest motoring and automotive exhibitions, but also expand its scope to include important technologies that the public can expect in the near future as Malaysia’s mobility sector operates in the digital era.

“The Autoshow is probably the only, if not among the few, opportunities for the industry players to directly access the public – to showcase the intricacies, “behind the scenes” elements and the people that design and build the cars that carry our loved ones every single day.”, said MARii Chairman, Datuk Phang Ah Tong, speaking at the Official Launch of the Malaysia Autoshow 2023.

Also present at the launch was Datuk Hanafi Sakri, MITI Senior Director, Industry Development Division.

The Autoshow also returns with new feature additions – the Malaysia Bike Show, Malaysia EV Show and Charged.

“You will have the opportunity to see the latest technologies and developments in the automobile industry. From electric and autonomous vehicles, to advances in safety and efficiency, the automobile industry is making vehicles that are not only better for the environment but also safer and more enjoyable to drive”, he added.

Hall A will continue its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on offer in Malaysia including the newest Energy Efficient Models. More than 100 car models from OEMs are expected to be on display. Visitors will also be offered special packages and deals, as well as special finance packages through its bank partner at the show.

This year’s visitors also stand a chance to win a Perodua Alza in the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 Visitors’ Contest.

Meanwhile, Hall C will feature the Malaysia Bike Show, showcasing the breadth of 2-wheeler lifestyle – from Sports Bikes to Trail Dirt Bikes. Meanwhile, Hall D will host the Malaysia EV Show and Charged, focusing on the various types of electric vehicles, vehicle charging technology, as well as accessories, parts and digital applications that make up the EV ecosystem.

The Autoshow will also take full advantage of the MAEPS outdoor areas and terrain, and will feature various automotive and lifestyle activities, including:

• Two 4.5km test drive routes (extended from last Autoshow’s 3km route) to further allow show visitors to fully experience the cars tested.
• A dedicated Premium Hall to showcase and highlight the best technology the market has to offer from the premium segment
• More than 100 models and variants of energy efficient vehicles, motorcycles, and electric vehicles on display at the exhibition halls
• A dedicated off-road experience for those who enjoy adventure
• Drift taxi-ride for those who want to experience the thrill of high performance vehicles
• Safety Technology Demonstration to showcase the latest technologies in vehicle safety
• Food trucks at the Malaysia Autoshow Auto Village
• Fun-filled activities for the entire family at the AutoFest, including a concert featuring
top artists, international dance invitationals, cosplay activities and many more.

Datuk Phang also expressed his appreciation for the industry-wide support to keep the Autoshow as an important agenda on the Malaysian automotive calendar.

“I’d like to thank the Ministry as well as the entire automotive and mobility sectors for their continuous support for the Autoshow. A special thank you to all the sponsors, in particular Perodua, our platinum sponsor for the Malaysia Autoshow 2023. I believe your support will make the Autoshow another success, and my deepest gratitude to the Malaysian automotive consumer – as you are the reason this show continues to live on”, he said.
