KUALA LUMPUR, 30 November 2022 – After months of intensive training and activities, the highly-anticipated World Finals of Miss CosmoWorld 2022 took place at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, where 22 delegates from all across the globe competed to take home the biggest cash prize in pageant history, as well as the most prestigious pageant title. The total prize winnings for the night amount to USD 200,000, whereas, Miss Meiji Aculana Cruz hailing from the Philippines was crowned Miss CosmoWorld 2022.
On its fifth edition this year, Miss CosmoWorld 2022 has put together a program to stimulate healthy competition among the delegates by offering one of the biggest cash prizes in pageant history – a whopping USD 100,000 cash by Getbats for the crowned victor, plus, prizes for subsidiary titles valued at more than USD 100,000.
As an advocate for women empowerment, Miss CosmoWorld founder Carrie Lee Sze Kei carries out initiatives to drive delegates towards independence and leadership by furnishing them with key information on entrepreneurship which they may bring forward with them regardless of the outcome of the night. In doing so, the pageant is able to build awareness and play a vital role in encouraging women from all across the globe to be independent in their endeavors, through the influence of participating delegates.
Joyce Chao, Organizing Chairlady and Miss CosmoWorld 2021 1st Runner-Up, said, “With each year, Miss CosmoWorld advances its offerings to not only bring prominence to the pageant but more importantly to create a positive impact in society. This year, the winner will walk away with USD 100,000 to finance her business ideas, as an effort from Miss CosmoWorld to develop triumphant female entrepreneurs. On top of that, each delegate that partakes in Miss CosmoWorld 2022 is also equipped with the fundamentals to run their own businesses to further drive said initiative. Throughout the entire pageantry, the delegates had the opportunity to be groomed by CT Chin, International Brand Builder, photo shooting by Baddogz Jin, make-up learning session with Elaine Leong of ESL Image and Make-Up Academy, team building and hiking with EbakzSports and horse-riding at DARC with Tengku Dato Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj.
The delegates also visited the heritage city of Malacca and experienced a plantation and petting zoo in the nature of Philea Resort & Spa, TDOX Clinic to crown Miss Charming, Chateau Sky Forest as well as an exclusive Christmas tea party at Melife showroom.
Miss Meiji Aculana Cruz, the winner of Miss CosmoWorld was born and raised in the Philippines started joining beauty pageants at a very young age. As she grew older, she became more passionate about empowering young girls from her city and at Miss CosmoWorld, she represented the Philippines to give back to her country. In the press conference, she said, “I am so honored and grateful to be Miss CosmoWorld 2022. I hope my story inspires the youth to persevere and work hard for their dreams. Malaysia has been so wonderful, therefore, I thank everyone for the experience and opportunity to represent the Philippines on the international stage.”
