PUTRAJAYA 19 October 2019 – YB Minister of Entrepreneur Development, (MED) Datuk Seri Mohd. Redzuan Yusof (who is also known as Pak Wan) will be undertaking a working visit to New Zealand from 19 to 21 October 2019, where he will be delivering a keynote address at the 8th International Applied Management Conference (IAMC), upon invitation from the Chairman of IAMC of Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), Dr. Reza Yaghoub.
In his keynote speech, Mohd Redzuan is expected to share details regarding the MED’s various initiatives and Malaysia’s aspiration towards becoming an Entrepreneurial Nation by 2030.
” The Minister’s working visit will comprise meetings with student leaders at University of Auckland, heads of Islamic Associations in New Zealand and local halal meat exporters. The Minister will also undertake visits to the
Rotokauri Campus to look at possible bilateral cooperation initiatives in
entrepreneurial development, as well as the Ruakura Agricultural Research
Centre to explore possible collaboration between SMEs and entrepreneurs of both countries, in the agriculture and biotechnology sectors.” said MED in a statement today.
MED also added that on Monday, 21 October 2019, the Minister will witness the signing of two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) involving Malaysian companies and their New Zealand counter parts that in the areas of development of a new, blockchain-based technology for purposes of talent development and also development of a halal gelatine hub, in Malaysia.
It should be noted that MED has been mandated to take the lead in the development of halal industry in Malaysia and the Ministry is presently working with key stake holders and the private sector to help develop the country’s first halal gelatine incubator that will source the supply of its raw materials, such as bone chips, from various countries including New Zealand.
